PAPREPLANES' MANUAL FOR PARENTS

If your kids cannot fly their own papreplanes well instead they obey the paperplanes' manuals, please help them along this manual.

This manual sometimes uses certain expressions like " a little more" , "slightly"" and so on to tune the paperplanes up. They simply mean "Try a log with small changes of settings." You may still think "What does 'small changes of settngs'"? Ok. It means that if a paperplane's total shapes are obviously different between before and after your one-change-setting, it is too much.

PROBLEM 1: THE PAPERPLANE NEVER FLIES LIKE A PLANE!

1-1 IT FLIES LIKE A STONE!

If the remedy of, "4. if your 'Mark x' simply BOWS, GOES DOWN, AND HITS THE GROUND,..." int the manuals with the paperplane kit does not work,

A. The case of "Mark I"

BEND UP THE REAR EDGES OF THE WINGS A LITTLE.

fig1

B. The cases of "Mark II", "MarkIII", "MarkIV"and "Mark V"

It may be because the wings' lift (the force which lifts their whole bodies up) is not enough.

Check: See wings in the directions: wingtips to the body. Aren't they bent like a spoon (refer to the pictures below)?

Remedy: FIX THOSE WINGS FLAT. If kt does not work well, BEND THEWINGS LIKE AN UPSIDE-DOWN SPOON A LITTLE.

fig2

Then your kid's paperplane must fly better.

1-2 IT SPINS LIKE A SCREW!

Check: There may be one or more parts on the paperplane TWISTED.

Remady: Fix them STRAIGHT AND FLAT. If dt does not work well, TWIST THE PARTS IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF THAT USED TO BE. SLIGHTLY.

PROBLEM2: THE PAPERGLIDER DOESN'T FLY STRAIGHTLY!

2-1 IT MAKES A BIG TURN DURING A FLIGHT THOUGH YOU HAVE MADE THE REMEDY OF "1. if your 'Mark x' DECLINES AND MAKES A BIG TURN,..." IN THE MANUAL WITH THE GLIDER KIT ALREADY!

Remedy: See the fin in the direction: the fin's top to its body's rear end.

2-1-1 If it makes a big LEFT TURN,

Bend or twirst the fin as the figure below, LEFT(The figure is exaggerated! When you try, the change of setting should be slightly.)

2-1-2 If it makes a big RIGHT TURN,

Bend or twirst the fin as the figure below, RIGHT(The figure is exaggerated! When you try, the change of setting should be slightly.)

fig3

2-2 IT ACTUALLY FLIES STRAIGHTLY, BUT SIDESLIPS!

The flight's a kind of cool, but if your kids do not like this case,

Remedy: It is an easier situation of the previous case: 2-1. According to the case: 2-1, adjust the fin's angle very slightly.

2-3 IT MAKES DECLINING FLIGHT (THE CASE THE LEFT WINGTIP UP AND THE RIGHT ONE DOWN OR THE OPPOSITE CASE.)

f you have already checked improper twists, bends and waving on its body, wings stabilizers and fin, and fixed them straight and flat again already,

2-3-1 INCREASE THE CAMBER ANGLE (the angle of wingtips up) A LITTLE.

fig4

IF IT DOESN'T WORK,

2-3-2 TWIST THE WINGTIPS.

A. The case: it flies LEFT SIDE UP and RIGHT ONE DOWN.

Remedy: See the LEFT wingtip. Twist the wingtip down a little as the picture below.

fig5

B. The oppisite case (It flies RIGHT SIDE UP and LEFT ONE DOWN.)

Remedy: See the RIGHT wingtip. Twist the wingtip down a little as the picture below.

fig6

2-4 IT FLIES PERFECTLY FOR A WHILE, BUT SUDDENLY SPINS AS IF AN INVISIBLE HAND GRABS ONE OF THE GLIDER'S WINGTIP.

The behavior is"WINGTIP STALL."

Remedy: Twist down BOTH WINGTIPS slightly (Each twisting should be made in the same volume.)
